The Sheep Music Festival, 2005
The
2005 Sheep Music Festival took place between the 15th and 17th July
just outside Presteigne in Powys, Wales. The
festival was blessed with unbroken sunshine and temperatures well into
the 80’s as over 40 bands took to the three stages for a weekend
of world, groove and roots music. After
successfully avoiding the temptation of the beer tent, The Badgers took
to the stage in the acoustic tent at around 11.30PM. The
tent was filled to capacity with a very appreciative audience who gave
the band a rapturous reception as they worked through an hour set, finishing
with their unmistakable version of “Sweet Georgia Brown”. However, in Badger-time, the night was still young. After some essential throat lubrication, the guys made their way to the all night café tent where a jamming session was already in progress. The Badgers joined friend and fiddle player, Aaron Catlow from Cut Collective, whose amazing band had performed earlier in the day, for a jamming session that went on until first light (James admitted to having his breakfast before he went to bed ...).
